Get It On!
If you don't know the term MXC yet, you will.
MXC refers to "The Most Extreme Elimination Challenge" on TNN (soon to be Spike TV). It's the latest thing to not just debut on cable TV, but to b*tchslap it and put it in a headlock.
The premise of the show is this: Start with an episode of a crazy Japanese gameshow called Takeshi's Castle in which people undertake wild and unnecessary physical challenges. Then, add new dialogue which repaints the show into a contest between two wildly disparate groups of people and transforms the regular hosts of the show into hysterically funny commentators on the cutting edge of good taste.
Hosts "Vic Romano" and "Kenny Blankenship" come up with amazing descriptions of the action, such as running the "Impact Replay" and noting during one contestant's fall that "if you listen closely, you can actually hear the colon being inverted right there." Sideline reporter "Guy LaDouche" is one of the funniest deviants ever lusting after all the women he interviews and "Captain Tenneal" gets the contestants rolling with his trademark "Get it on!" while showing his total disdain for them.
And speaking of contestants, all are introduced with a word about their occupations. For example, there's a "dyslexic geography teacher from York New", "an on set tutor for the adult film industry" and "a padded headboard tester."
This is not for the faint of heart.
This show seems to have taken the internet by storm, with people placing full episodes for download on their message boards and web sites. It certainly has taken over my workplace where we schedule viewings of episodes at lunch, being careful to ensure that all eating and drinking is completed prior to a viewing.
