How Not To Negotiate

I am literally sitting here as I write this blog checking the latest web updates of the hockey negotiations.

These people are just unreal. They've sat around hosing each other down with testosterone, making all this tough talk about "this way or no way." They've squandered away an entire hockey season just posturing, and finally, with a deadline set, they've made more progress in less than a week than they have in years.

Why did it take so long? Why waste so much time trying to beat each other over the head with the opposite point of view? All you've done is look foolish. Both sides said they'd never give in on their fundamental position. Never. Well, they have, and their credibility is now gone.

So here they are, essentially a few million dollars apart but closer than they ever have been with time almost up. It sure would be a shame to come this far and let it blow up.
