Kid vs. Cat
It was dusk when we arrived back from Grandma and Grandpa's house. As we approached, we could make out some sort of lump right in the middle of the driveway. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be the neighborhood cat, who had decided to claim his spot right where I had to park the van. And he didn't look like he felt like moving.
"Look, sweetie!," I called to Christie in the back seat. "There's a kitty kat on our driveway."
"Huh?" said Christie straining to look around the driver seat.
" A kitty kat." Lisa pointed to it as I turned onto the driveway slowly, hoping to give the cat some inkling that he needed to get out of the way.
"Oh!" Christie said excitedly as she saw the cat laying there, staring back at our headlights. "A kitty kat!"
As the van creeped slowly towards the cat, Christie sat up straighter and noticed the cat still refused to get up.
"Hey!" Christie yelled indignantly, turning on the attitude. "Get out of the way, cat!"
The cat moved.
I guess even cats know when 3 year olds mean business.
