Acceptance Letter

Christie got her first acceptance letter! She's been accepted into the Kindergarten we applied for. Yay!

No really! There is an acceptance letter involved in all this! Plus a very large packet of things that need to be filled out.

OK, before you think we're sending her to this uppity private school or something, let me explain that we were just trying to get her into a school in the district that was not the one she was "assigned" to by the district lines. So...not a big deal. But you know, it's kind of cool and scary in a way. I'm sure this will be the first of many such acceptance letters for her, but man, do they grow up fast!

It certainly doesn't seem that long ago when we were still deciding on a name on the way to the hospital. Or when we were taking her to get her first pictures...the progression from just sitting there to being terrified of the camera to now being a total ham when a camera is even mentioned. The evolution of "sayou, "wideo," and "ee-dou" to "Sesame Street," "Video," and "Ernie." Even now, I'm a little amazed that she can operate the DVD remote because I still have the urge to stop her from sucking on it.

So here we are now on the verge of kindergarten. It's wild, isn't it? I just need to remind myself to not get so caught up day to day and enjoy the ride while it's on.
